" You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." Matthew 5: 14-16 NLT
Our vision is to raise a generation of young adults who are deeply connected—to Jesus Christ, to the church, and to the community around us. At New Mt. Zion, we strive to create a strong, supportive peer community where we can grow together, encourage one another, and sharpen each other’s gifts.
Our goal is to help every member discover and develop what God has placed inside of them, so they can confidently serve others and help bring more people into a relationship with Christ. We believe that when we grow together, we become stronger together—and that impact reaches far beyond us.
Serving others is at the heart of who we are. We’ve had the opportunity to serve our community through small food giveaways and back-to-school drives, helping meet real needs for families in our area. These moments allow us to connect with people in a meaningful way and remind them that they are seen and cared for.
The Angel Tree Initiative is the heart of our outreach efforts and one of the most impactful things we do each year at New Mt. Zion. During the Christmas season, we come together to bless children in our community with clothes, shoes, and toys. But it’s more than just giving gifts—it’s about spreading love, bringing joy, and reminding families that they are not forgotten.
Through this initiative, we aim to reflect the love of Christ in a tangible way and make the holiday season special for those who need it most.
